Hey guys

Then my friend has a pre-built PC from microcenter (US)

A lot of the BIOS features seem to have gone from the BIOS, in that location should be 6 sections on the main part of the BIOS, like overclocking settings,avant-garde options, only in that location are only 3 tabs.
Overclocking tab is not in that location, which is what he wants there.
Now before realising the next affair I will say, we tried updating the bios using Q wink which should be a tab on the BIOS, but its non there.
Now, I think this is a custom kinda BIOS that microcenter have done, another thing that makes me recall this is that there is a organization explore affair built into the BIOS, which shows him pictures of his verbal PC, so this is obviosuly somehing they take washed...
He sent them an email also recently asking them for help on this, they said somethign like 'we dont assistance for costless' it was a $300 deal off the original price of the PC equally well I believe.

Is there any way to remove this BIOS they accept put on and update it to a new ane?

This is the consequence with pre-built systems. Manufacturers of these systems exercise not want to run across a lot of returns due to people messing effectually in the system BIOS, so they lock them downwards. The exorbitant fee that you lot see is due to the fact that they feel they will eventually become this system back if they did unlock the BIOS. It would exist my estimate that any attempts at changing this would void any warranty on the system.

i thing if the msi bios does what asus did there may exist a f key or tab to hit to go into advance style. a lot of bios makers now hide advance mode. open up the case and look at the model of the mb used and google that and non of the pc. see if that mb from msi has any updates.

We have already tried advanced mode, there is null there nosotros can see that relates to this.
I know the model of the motherboard, its the MSI Z270 SLI PLUS.
Equally stated above every bit well, we have tried flashing the BIOS and already downloaded to latest version of the BIOS on a USB stick, simply there is no flashing option in the BIOS.

I'm having the aforementioned issue, with the same estimator purchased from Micro Eye. Great figurer for the price - it's a shame they nerfed information technology. Not only can you not overclock the CPU, you cannot turn on XMP, so you're stuck with Did your friend observe a solution? I'1000 thinking nearly upgrading the BIOS using MSI'south Live Update half dozen (since they have also disabled M-Flash) and the Z270 SLI Plus BIOS on MSI'due south website, just I'chiliad a bit concerned about bricking the motherboard.
